Thank You, Maa & Papa
For Mother's Day, Father's Day, or no day at all
Most of us never actually tell our parents what they mean to us. We call, we ask if they've eaten, we fight about the AC temperature. A surprise page lets you say the rest: the sacrifices you noticed, the lessons you're only now understanding, the small things like Papa waiting outside the exam hall.
For a parent's birthday, Birthday Bash works great (they will love cutting the cake on screen). For a parents' anniversary or just to say thank you, Open When… lets you write letters like 'open when you feel the house is too quiet'. A Thank You, Maa & Papa template is coming soon.
It opens straight from WhatsApp, with no app or login, so even parents who only use WhatsApp and YouTube can open it in one tap. Expect it to be forwarded to the family group within minutes.
Ideas to put in it
- Scan or photograph old album photos: their wedding, your first birthday, family trips.
- Write one letter to Mummy and one to Papa, so neither feels left out.
- Write in Hindi or your mother tongue if that's what they're comfortable reading.
- For their anniversary, ask siblings and cousins to add a line each.
- Keep the unlock code simple, like their anniversary date, or skip it altogether.
- Sit with them while they open it the first time, if you can.
Questions
My parents aren't very tech savvy. Will they manage?
If they can open a WhatsApp link, they can open this. There is no app, no login and no account. You can skip the unlock code to keep it one tap.
Can I make it for their wedding anniversary?
Yes. Open When… works well for anniversaries, and Birthday Bash is great for birthdays.
Can I write in Hindi?
Yes. Type in any language your keyboard supports.
